What people come here to find out
- Which consulate handles my county?London, Manchester or Edinburgh, from the lists the consulates publish themselves.
- Do I still qualify since March 2025?What art. 3-bis asks of anyone born abroad with another citizenship, and what the courts have left open.
- What documents will I need? What each UK consulate asks for, and where each paper comes from.
- How do I choose a firm, and who regulates them? What to ask before paying anyone, and why most of this work sits outside any UK regulator.
- Can I see every firm side by side? All of them on one page, the same checks in the same columns.
Who this is for
- People looking for help
- A calm place to see who offers this work and to read the law, for free, as a first step.
- The firms listed
- A place in the list at no cost, set out on the same footing as everyone else, with a link to their own site and a letter away from an update.
- The field as a whole
- A shared, plain record of who does this work, which we hope makes it easier for people to find the right help.
How an entry is made
We read each firm against the same public sources: its own site, Companies House, the SRA register and the ICO register. Lines link to what they rest on where they can, with the date we read them. A gap is only a gap, and says nothing against a firm. No firm pays to be listed, nothing is ranked, and we print no review scores. Things move, so an entry may be out of date: please check anything you plan to rely on.
To update an entry, post us a letter
Firms can write to ask for an entry to be corrected, added or removed. Tell us the firm, the line, and where the right version is published.
It needs to fit through a letterbox: a letter or an A4 envelope.
Parcels and boxes are likely to be sent back by the address service. Please send copies rather than originals, and no payment.
We try to read each letter and check it against the source, but we cannot promise a date or a particular outcome. More on writing to us.
Entries are built from public records without asking the firm first, so a letter is how a firm can put one right. Being listed costs nothing.
